Two Butts and a Fatty!!(qview)

The memorial day weekend smoke was so successful I've been commissioned to provide the BBQ for Father's day. Right now I've got two butts and my first fatty on. I used Jeff's rub this time and it looks great can anyone tell me if it's as good as advertised? I plan to do two racks of spare ribs tomorrow also and have a question on that but will post separate.

I used dry chunks of hickory this time and it seems to last much longer.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Get used to being commisioned for the meat in the future! Crank out one good smoke, they'll want ya to try again. Crank out great Q every time, you will be EXPECTED to!! Hope it all turns out great for ya!

Fatty's done

Couldn't wait to get this thing done...Starving. Butts are in stall mode one at 148 and the other 149...tick-tock. I've been battling temps all day. Barely keeping them below 235...gotta get a needle valve. Any suggestions in the mean time?

This will be great on a biscuit tomorrow.

235 is fine, just relax and grab your favorite beverage.

The rub is great, one of my favorites and my wife's #1 favorite.

The fatty looks awesome, enjoy it!

I agree with Ron the rub is great and that temp is fine I shoot for 225-250*

Nothing wrong with that fatty! I just hit the plateau on my butts also - actually lost temp on the small one that has been leading the way. Just gotta stick it out. Not uncommon for a 3 hour plateau. Yesterday a member had a 5 hour stall on a pretty small butt...
