As long as the Rain passes...
The wife wants some ribs cooked the OLD way... I told her I'll use the smoker but with no wood, No gas grill cooking... So I will try some rub on My rack, not sure what rub yet??? And hers will be plain ribs with her Mom's recipe for BBQ sauce..

Picked these up at BJ's the other day..

Since your going in two different directions with the coating, why not cook them differently too. You could slow cook her ribs in the oven, put yours in the smoker with wood. Same temps, ready at the same time, your both happy

I hear the same thing from my wife and I don't get it. But I guess if I want to "get it" I better just do it.

We'll I got to give the wife credit.. It was a great idea.. I love smoked ribs but its nice to change things up once in a while.. These non smoked Ribs were GREAT. I did a straight 4.5 hour cook, no smoke, no foil, no 3-2-1 I just did them the old way I used too.. They cam out super moist fall off the bone Ribs.
The home made Q sauce was even super..

Dang, now it's gonna be hard to wait until Sunday when I smoke mine!!!!!
I just HAD to look at your pix!!!!
But I have the opposite problem ... yes the wife doesn't like smoked meat as much as I do, but she wants ALL THAT HICKORY OUT OF HER YARD ASAP!!!!!
So, what's a person to do????

I can smoke every weekend from now until 2010, and probably wouldn't run out of hickory. Already split and stacked behind the shed.
I'm trying to find room to add a truckload of persimmon!!!!!

Looks great and probally tasted better
