OK so I am used to seeing a few pebbles in the fire box after using Royal oak But I had a first yesterday I found a fist sized chunk of concrete in my fire box, On top of that this bag has had lotts of unburned paper in it, has anyone else had this happen or did I get a bad bag. I am debating calling them and asking whats up with it. Anyway a pic for eveyone to see what I am talking about.

Yeah wrong picture. That was what the concrete was smoking. A butt and a chuck, but I didn't get any finished pics because we had to make a run to my parents house so as soon as they were done into the cooler they went and we shared with my parents.

Where'd you buy it ? some places like wallywold can be pretty good with returns / complaints if you are polite and ask for a mgr. if needed. PDT_Armataz_01_18.gif
Wouldnt hurt to call and email royal oak with the pic as well , might just get a free bag from the store and coupons for more from RO if yer lucky .
I'd be ticked too if 25% of the wieght of a bag o' coal was concrete icon_evil.gif

Just got off the phone with royal oak. They thanked me for my concern and are sending me a money order for $10.00 to cover the cost of a new 20lb bag. The said they didn't send out bags (probably because of the cost of shipping) and they only had coupons for the briquettes. So a money order was her suggestion. All in all excellant customer service and easy to deal with. I Deffinitly will continue to use thier product.

They said something to the effect, that the raw wood is stored on concrete, and then loaded with heavy equipment into the kilns, she stated this is probably how it got in there.

Bottom line, you got some good customer service and that's a jewel in itself these days!! Good to hear there are still companies that believe in that!
