My name is Joe and I live in Lewis Center, Ohio. Lewis Center is a bedroom community to Columbus. Columbus is the home of the Buckeyes!

I'm a retired GI that has never used a smoker. I was visiting with my cousin in Florida and he used a Brinkman electric smoker while I was there. The results were outstanding! I decided to buy a smoker there and then.

I now have the smoker (Char-Broil Electic Smoker) and don't know what to do with it? Found this site and registered. Am now reading HOW TO SMOKE MEAT by Jeff Phillips. I also plan to take the 5 day course.

Any other suggestions?

My first attempt with be with a pork loin roast. Wish me luck.

Hi Diablo, A big welcome to the forum from another Buckeye fan. You'll like it here. Real friendly people with lots of advice for beginners like us. Your already on the right track starting out with pork. Be sure to leave the pork in long enough, most first timer pull it out to early. Let the inside temp reach 195 to 205 degrees. Let us know out it turns out.
