Smoking out the neighbors--mother's day tri-tip with q-view

Thread Starter
Did a marinated tri-tip today for mother's day. While I was getting the coals started, the neighbor came over to complain about the smoke, noting that last weekend when I smoked there was a "smoke smell" all day. I said, "well, isn't that a good thing?" She didn't think so, so I apologized and promised to move future operations further away from her house. This would NEVER happen in TX or other more smoker-friendly parts of the nation! Maybe I'll invite here over next time. Some good Q would change her mind maybe. Oh well, can't please 'em all.

Here is some q-view of the tri-tip. It turned out pretty good but was over-marinated. I'll keep it simple next time. We turned these into fajitas, and it was overall an all right product, but not my best smoke.

Looks good man.

You gotta love neighbors sometimes. I've had mine complain about almost everything I do. I normally tell them where to shove it.

Course, sunbathing nude gets those kind of responsesPDT_Armataz_01_05.gif.

Yeah, the faj's look great! Too bad about your neighbor. I got neighbors like that... I always invite them for everything, then have never walked the 30 steps to get from door to door. Maybe not like that - they never complain - just never show...

Move the smoker closer to her property, and smoke something very pungent. Anyone ever tried smoked skunk?

Nice tri-tip fajitas!!!

Washington State is where your at it. Smoke some salmon fillets up. Then package them with the food saver into couple of fillets in a pouch. Freeze em, and go over and givem to them. Peace offering!wink.gif

Stuff is pretty expensive to purchase, would be a good gift aaaaaaand if they dont like salmon fillets I could give you my secret salmon spread recipe that would know their socks off!! Hell you all may end up as friends.

Pac, Nice q-view.

I missed the bit about your neighbors. Too bad. Fortunately, mine are cool with it as my back actually faces their backyard. (Out house has a messed up lay-out) I have given them some pulled pork before though.
