Hi folks, My name is Tommy. I've never smoked anything before in my life. I'm looking to buy a electric smoker. Does anyone have any recommendations? What are your feelings on the....

-Original Bradley Smoker
-Brinkman Smoker
-Old Smokey

Are electric smokers better for beginners? Any info would be very helpful. Thank you!

Welcome to the site. The electrics are probably less hassle, and for a beginner, that could be a good thing. You can get some pretty good grub off of them too. I think the Bradleys have to have the pucks to work correctly, some guys don't like that part, others do. I don't use electrics anymore, I do it the hard way, but that pretty much explains my life!eek.gif

You will have alot of fun here, and make alot of good friends/and food!

Tommy, Welcome from another noob. The SMF will steer you correctly as you can already see.

The electric smoker forum is pretty good. I ended up with a brinkman (ECB) electric as I was unsure of my ability to read and follow directions to get some good grub so did not want to spend much $$$ at the beginning. But the SMF has steered me through very well and I do fine with pork butts, 3-2-1 ribs and fattys. (will try some brisket next) I have not modified it with any temp controls yet but know I need to with the warmer temps coming where I live. (MI)
