Chicken Burgers

I know, this is a grilling recipe and not a smoke but it's worth in IMO. Might have to try it as a smoke sometime but I might get in trouble for trying to fix something that's not broke PDT_Armataz_01_18.gif

We tried a new recipe last night that was great!! My wife said she'd drive across town for one of these. Anyway, it's called a Santa Fe Chicken Burger:

1 lb ground chicken breast or turkey
1/2 cup of shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese
1/4 cup of Salsa (I used Lizano Salsa)
1/4 cup of crushed tortilla chips
1/4 cup of diced green onions (green and white parts)
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper

I grilled these at 350 for about 5-7 minutes per side. I did these as 1/4 lb burgers in a burger press I have. Also, I suggest using Pam High Temp on your grill as these are a little sticky until cooked.

I put a slice of Monterrey on the patties as well in the last 2 minutes. You'll notice in the picture the cheese isn't shredded as I screwed up and got slices at the deli so I just pulled it into small pieces.

Sorry the finished pic doesn't look so great. I was in a hurry to eat and decided to take a picture after the fact. I topped it with ground black pepper and creamy horseradish sauce. It was great and the kids (3 and 5) ate it up as well.

I'm tellng you, these were great and the little guys liked them as well. We were really surprised. This goes in the regular cook book around here.

I know, the Qview isn't great but what can I say. Just try them.
