I've collected a pile of cherrywood slabs and a stack of hickory limbs. Does this wood need to be kept out of the weather before using it in the smoker?

If you want it seasoned, i'd keep it dry!

I'll go along with Cacus on this one, stack it up off the ground and a cover over the top to help keep it dry, let air circulate around the stack. If it is green, gonna take on average about 6 months to season to smokin stage. Great luck on the find of wood!
