Looking at the LANG 48 & 60 mobile.

I have been cooking ribs for about 10 years now on my weber charcoal grills and just recently got a large big green egg. Now I am looking at going into competitions for fun and this will mostly be for tailgating for Auburn football weekends.

At max id probably cook for 30-40 people. Can someone give me the breakdown on each of these models and how much they can hold as far as ribs, butts, briskets & chickens? I have never cooked a whole hog and that would be nice to have that option but its not a big deal. I normally cook about 10 baby backs at once or a couple butts. Point im trying to find is it necessary for me to get the 60 as that $1695 is in my price range the 60 is a little out as I wanted to stay below $2k. Much appreciated on the cooking amount differences.

I have a 04 Z-71 Tahoe so thats what I will be pulling it with. Thanks!

Since you are new here, I say welcome to the site. I will also tell you that it is important to check out the "roll call" section and tell us all a little about yourself.

I am a new owner of the Mobile 60 w/ warmer attached. I love it so far. I would say that you could do easily 12 butts at once, probably more, probably 15-20 racks of ribs at once, and alot of chickens.

This is 33 lbs of Chuck roasts with plenty of room for more.

You can tow this smoker with a car, it has very little drag or effect on the braking, or weight distribution. You can move the smoker by hand easily.

The pics make it look bigger than it really is. A pig of 100 lbs would be about right, w / 120 lbs probably the max.

If I were you I would just call and talk to Ben Lang...he's a really nice guy and will answer all your questions..When I was in the market for a smoker, I called him and probably talked for 30 min or more and he really answers all the questions I had...I ended up buying a backwoods, but I appreciated the time he spent...J

Most of us Lang owners had to pay a lot $$$ for shipping

I notice you are in Alabama, I would definately call Ben, set up a time to meet him, talk to him to see if he has anything that will meet your price range, maybe a demo? You have an advantage because you can actually go there and kick the tires. A pick up may save him some costs too:-)

Wish i was that close to his facility:-)

Well I still have a 7 hour drive and will likely be making a weekend trip to Savannah then pick it up after.

I appreciate all the responses and will do the new person thing, but does anyone have any info on the 48 Mobile? That is likely what im going for unless Ben has some 60 cheaper.

Hope you got the photos

If you are sure 30-40 is a good number the 48 will be big enoegh since it will hold max 70lbs.. At half pound of meat per person and stuffed full that is alot of meat.
