Chicken Halves?

I'm looking for recommendations or warnings about smoking my chicken in split halves. I'm trying to squeeze it into a smoke that has some big meat on my top rack and thought they'd fit nicely on the lower rack that doesn't have a lot of head room to the next rack.

I split my chickens all the time (unless I'm doing a Beer Butt). I find it takes less time in the smoker with better penetration of smoke into the meat.
