Ok I have pics below but my q's are the smoker is made of 1/8 in steel is brand new cusotom made the guy who ordered it doesnt want it now and the outside is freshly painted but the inside is bare steel what do i need to do to the bare steel coat it with something if so what. And the doors around the firebox and the smoking chamber dont have L shaped steel on the corners and edges to better hold in the heat not sure how it will affect the performance of the smoke or not. if any other tips let me know please and thanks. Oh yeah he only wants 300.00 bucks ...

the sfb horz. i got for christmas didn't have paint on the inside either.....you DON"T want paint on the inside..........use pam.........veggie oil.........or in my case, i rubbed the inside down with good ol lard......then crank the heat up HIGH.......to burn off any residual oils left from the manufacturing process.............

thats bout all i can add atm

Looks like a pretty solid cooker and for 300 bucks you cant go wrong. Just as WD said you will nead to season it up real good prior to using.

If that were in front of me and being offered for 300 dollars I would buy it on the spot.

I'd say good deal too! Maybe coat the edge of the smoke chamber with Pam, and run a bead of Hi-Temp RTV around the door edge and close the door gently..for a couple hours. Instant thin gasket to help seal. Dunno if you
ll even need it tho.

like rich said.......tho i would use saran wrap between door and smoker wall
so the silicone doesn't stick to the door

after the 'cone drys, gently remove the saran wrap
or just get some fireplace rope and use

Don't think the Pam would do it? Now that I think on it, last time I did this <My driver's window gasket> it did take a slight pry to detach. Not too hard, tho. Saran wrap is a good solution!

Pam mite........tho you would have to ask her...............

BWHAHAHAHA...........i KILL myself at times...........
