Masterbuilt owners & door seals???????

I was checking out the Masterbuilt smokers @ the nearby Cabela's store & there was a stainless steel one in the "Bargain Cave" for $159.00 which looked lightly used. I noticed the door seal was coming off. I then went upstairs to look at the new ones & the door seal was coming off the display model as well. Is this a constant problem with Masterbuilt products? Thanks for any input.

The door seal is only attached to the door by small staple like things that more/less hook into the seal. They are spaced out along the edge of the door. Kind of cheesy I guess but it works.....at least until the seal wears out hehe.

Just wondering if you bought the one in the bargin cave or not?......I would bet Masterbuilt would send you a new seal if you called them........Sounds like they have great constumer service....

Haven't had any problem with my seal on my MES 30. It needs cleaning for a better seal. Maybe I smoke to much? NAW!!!! Not a chance.

Have had great response from Masterbuilt when needed on the Elect. timers.

Have been using mine alot for over a year , and no problems with the door seal at all , although it does seem a bit flimsy .... but it's fine and doesn't leak at all ... my 2 cents worth

I've had the 40" MES for about a year and haven't had any problems at all with the door seal.

i was at sams yesterday and was lookin at the 40" stainless they are selling for $299, like Placebo said seal is attached with little clips aprx every 8", seems like seal is broken or realy cheap but i guess as long as the clips hold it in place and the door is closed it clamps the seal in place.
