Hi folks,
Al here. I figured it was time to quit viewing from a distance and jump right in. I've kept an eye on the forums and have used quite a bit of info to come up w/ some pretty good initial smokes.
I'm retired Navy, now working in the Jacksonville area. I've lived all over the states, and have become a certified "chow-hound" from sampling all of the regional grub. I have been grilling for the better part of 25 years and decided that I needed that smokey goodness. I received a NSECB...not-so el cheapo Brinkmann for Christmas, the SS convertable charcoal/electric type. Since then, I've smoked a pork shoulder, a turkey, chicken, and most recently I did ribs and a beer can chick at the same time. Each smoke gets better, and with the addition of the remote digi-mometer, it's become quite painless.
I look forward to many great conversations as well as some quality smokes. I signed up for the 5-day, and hope to get the time to read them soon.
Bottoms up,
Al
