Ceder wood plank salmon question??

I've used them and they add a nice flavor to the salmon.

I usually marinate mine in a mix of maple syrup balsamic vingear and dijon mustard first. Always comes out great.
 
You are using the planks as a cooking plate, not putting them in as wood to be actually completely consumed right?

From what I gather, using cedar as a smoking wood is a really bad idea. I have used the planks on a grill to cook salmon at high temps and it gives it good flavor. Not sure what the result would be low and slow.

EDIT: Sorry if this was obvious and was your intent, just want clarification.
 
No, lol, I would never use The planks for smoking. I meant being used as a cooking plank for the salmon to cook on.
