Cover for an MES

The MES arrived, and I quickly worked to cook the gunk out, and then did a very simply Q of half a dozen ABT and a double sized fatty with cheese and asparagus, with a carribean'ish rub and bacon wrapped. (Sorry no QView this time, camera's battery wasn't charged. I'll be better next time.)

Anyway still considering the whole cover thing. I was curious if anyone tried the cover for the Great Outdoors smokers, its 25x17x40. So should slip right down over the MES. Its a bit long but that hardly seems an issue. So anyone tried this?

As a side note, the plastic outside trim of the door at the top left is pretty seriously cracked. I suspect it was banged pretty fierce in shipping, though its odd since there is styrofoam there, so it may have been broken from the factory. Trying to figure if its worth contacting Walmart or Masterbuilt over it.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for the info on the cover, looks like it should work.

In reference to your cracked door trim, give Masterbuilt a call and they will most likely replace it for you.

I just picked up their Sams Club unit (last one they had at store) and when I got home and unboxed it the the finish on the door was messed up, looks like some kind of staining. Not really a major biggie to me, but I called Masterbuilt and they told me to try cleaning w/ mild soap solution etc., and if it didn't work to call them back " because they wanted me to be happy ". I thought, Wow Great, I like happybiggrin.gif

Anyhow, that didn't work so I called back and they're sending me a brand new door, no questions asked, and absolutely no cost on my part. Now that is great customer service. I was totally expecting to get the usual run around as with many other manufacturer's, but that wasn't the case at all. It was really refreshing to receive that type of customer service for a change.
