A good hearty soup, very popular around our place- Hungarian style potato soup.

Recipe for about 6 servings.

4 Medium potatos, spoon sized chunked
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cups water
1/2 pint sour cream
4-5 strips bacon, chopped
1/4 tsp CBP
2-3 bay leaves
2 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp butter
Salt to taste- the potatos REALLY suck up the salt...

In a deep pot, fry up the bacon, adding onion and butter as the bacon starts to render. Add flour, brown mixture lightly.

Add everything else EXCEPT the sour cream and simmer 'till potatos are tender. About 5 min. before serving add sour cream and mix until smooth, and salt to taste.

A dash of paprika adds a nice warm color to the soup and a nice flavor as well.

This soup will warm the cockles of yer heart, garanteed!

Hmmm, sounds good Richtee... thanks for sharing!

I could combine rich's and cowgirls recipes and give you my potato and corn chowder ;) Love that soup!
This looks good though, I will have to give it a try. Next week it might get cold enough here for soup. Till then the a/c is back on.

Why wait for cold weather? Just crank up the AC and pretend! Anytime is soup time in my book... I love soup!

Oh my that sounds alot like one of my favorite soups I always order whenever we go to eat at Black Angus. They call it baked potato soup.

Thank you very much Rich I'm looking forward to trying this!
