Hmm, guess I skipped this part-
Hi all! My name is "StfRon" from Central Illinois (not really a BBQ area, but hey we try!), I've been on the forums for some time now, and just forgot to do Roll Call- so here it is!
I'm a beginner smoker, starting out with a brisket in a cardboard box (Ala Alton Brown) In fact, here's a short video of my first smoke-
OK OK, so now I understand- 'thin blue smoke' although the smoke was a large quantity, the brisket was goooood!
I used the cardboard box a few more times, until it cough fire and almost took out my garage. Fortunately, the previous owner of our home was a fire fighter and installed more than enough extinguishers. (The pork chops were ruined)
So from there, I moved on to the GOSM propane, and have just been loving it- I've done briskets, pork shoulders, ribs, pork chops (a favorite, cured first!) and my most recent accomplishment BACON!
I want to thank Jeff for the great recipes and website- and especially the great 5 day class- it was very helpful.
I also want to thank all of you forum members, you've made this new hobby so very enjoyable!! Cheers to all of you!
