Evening to all - I'm new to this site but I've been getting the monthly news letters for a while. I've enjoyed reading the many recipes and stories. I'm not a beginner and probably not considered to be a pit master other than to my family and friends. I cook primarily with wood, and this summer turned out to be a great summer when I found a guy who sells the types of wood I need for smokin'.
My specialty would be my pork butt roasts, my dad raves about it, my family can't get enough, and I do have a few friends who want to learn from me. I am happy to share. There's always plenty to go 'round. I'm using a barrel - texas style smoker, runs on wood of course. I suppose I could use charcoal but why? Anyway, I enjoy smokin' meats of sorts, including game. I am always interested in new ways, new spices and concoctions to try. I hope to share a few ideas as well as gather some finer points of smokin' and making different rubs and such. I'm a little long winded you can tell. Thanks and I look forward to reading more on this website. AnneO
