Hi all, new here and thought I'd introduce myself.
I grew up in a small town in the NW and never really knew anything about smoking until my dad gave me one of those stove-top smokers. Unfortunately (or fortunately) my apartment didn't have any way to vent the exhaust outside, and buying a burner to use it outside was as much as buying a cheap Brinkmann smoker, so I just figured I'd buy the smoker instead. (I got the all-in-one Brinkmann because I figured I could use the jet burner for other stuff if I didn't smoke much) and they had one with a damaged box on sale.
A bit over a year later I've gotten more and more into smoking, love the flavor, and with a digital thermometer and some info I got here and elsewhere have managed to churn out some pretty good food.
Now my Brinkmann smoker has warped a bit, the hose for the propane got singed a it when the thing blew a flame out of the burner's air vent, and I'm ready for something a bit better. I've been smoking at least once a week so I figure it's a good investment.
So I'll be posting in the equipment (charcoal grills) section to ask for advice on a smoker to get. I figure that's more appropriate than asking here.
