First Question: How do I add comments or ask questions in the forum and get them posted.
Second Question: Just started smoking meat last week. I have seen several differant smokers that use wood pellets that are augered into the firebox. I quess the question is; are standard wood heating pellets suitable to use in a food smoker. I know that they sell mesquit and hickory for the smokers that are designed for pellets but what about the horizontal side by side smoker. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Scooter

scotter... 1st question... Just go to the forum you want to post in. Upper left hand corner says "New Thread" click on that and go from there.
2nd Question... Have never used pellets in my smoker. Don't remember seing any post where someone is using pellets in a smoker like yours. Pellets usually are used in Bradely and Treager Smokers.

cajun thanks for the fast reply, from one Idahoan to another, I just couldn't figure out how to get into the forums to comment.
as for the pellets, We used them on some ribs the other day and there seemed to be no after taste. and they did put off a lot of smoke. Might try doing a cold smoke and see what happens.

thanks again Scooter
