Aloha Fatty

I know this is not for everyone, but I like to try different things, so here’s my Aloha Fatty. Flatten out sausage and then sprinkle with mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and powdered honey. Create 3 wide rows of fresh banana, shredded coconut and crushed pineapples. Carefully fold and seal the ends. Coat sausage with Kahlua, and then sprinkle with slivered almonds ( I had no crushed macadamia). Place in BBQ at/near 225° using apple wood. After 1 ½ hrs. give it another shot of Kahlua. Smoke it till inside temperature hits 170° and remove. Let cool before slicing. I like the island blend of flavors along with the sausage. Stay tuned for my next adventure...

Sauage is always compatible with fruit/sweet flavors. The crust had a nice texture due to the slivered almonds. The core carried the banana and coconut flavors throughout, also blending with the foudation spices. The booze did not over run the taste. My wife went nuts over it, But I only made one since it was an experiment. This is a keeper in my house.

Gotta ask because I don't recall seeing powdered honey anywhere - where's a good place to get it?

This looks great, BTW... almost a dessert fatty. icon_smile.gif

Because I'm disabled it isn't too easy for me to go driving around, so I often buy off the net. This is my source for many spices that I use
Very dependable, consistant, and ready to help. I'm sure there are other sources to checkout...
