Baked Honey Chicken


  • 2 chickens, cut-up
  • ¼ c. butter
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. rosemary
  • 1 Tbs. honey for each piece of chicken
  • 1 c. chicken stock
  • flour
Sprinkle each piece of chicken with flour. Melt butter in Dutch oven and sautÃ[emoji]169[/emoji] chicken on both sides. Remove chicken and drain on paper towels.
SautÃ[emoji]169[/emoji] the onions until golden brown. Add chicken stock. Place chicken in oven on onions, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and rosemary. Drizzle each piece of chicken with honey. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F (10-12 coal under bottom of oven) for about 1 hour. Baste the chicken frequently.

Sounds very good! Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll have to give her a try! Reminds me of the chicken we used to get on a roadside stop called Chicken in the Rough in Tennessee back in 1956, right there midst the Stuckey signs! This place had one old wood picnic table around back. You got your chicken, corn on the cob and a biscuit with a cup of honey on the side! Thanks for the memories!
