I took the stainless chip drop tray out of my MES, exposing the element and giving a lot more vertical room over it for chunks. I remember a poster saying just rest a 6" cast skillet right on the element, but right now I don't have one. I wonder if I can use a foil cupcake pan, or double wrap in HD foil and poke holes right on the element instead. Anyone tried this? I'm over feeding chips into it every few hours, especially when it's at 275* and I have chunks that won't fit the chute.
