shoulder roast i did yesterday

Thread Starter
here is pics of the shoulder roast i smoked yesterday. i also did 5 polish sausage links, 12 ABT's. the roast weighed 4.61lbs. i rubbed it with mustard and my spices the night before. i hit it up with more black pepper, garlic powder, and chili powder just before throwing it in the smoker. we ate all the ABT's, so no pics. the polih sausage was good too. the roast came out very juicy. i mopped it twice while it was in the smoker. i put it in the smoker at 5:30 p.m. foiled it at 8:55 p.m. (170° internal) and put it in the oven to finish, at 250°. it hit 200° at 10:50 p.m.
my mop consisted of bourbon, a bit of vegetable oil, and worcestershire sauce. here is the (food) porn.

Nice beef there, Chris! Guess I'll have to a couple of pot roasts in the GOSM for Sunday's Dinner. Kids are coming over-so I gotta do two if I want any leftovers for sammiches:D

Really looks great Chris. Nice smoke ring and lots of juice.
I've only been using dry rubs up until now, but I plan to start trying out some mops too. A bourbon mop sounds pretty good.

looks good.....the little lady has a meatloaf made that I'd try to convince her to let me smoke, but the smoker is chock full of pepperoni smoking as we speak......hummmmmm maybe it's time for more smokers PDT_Armataz_01_11.gif

Nice looking. Did you send my samples yet????

I have a couple of slabs of beef ribs, and a couple of cut up chickens to burn later. I am waiting till it warms up just a tad bit more. Only suppose to be a high of 46 today.......
