Boerewors...and braai's

Has anyone here ever eaten Boerewors? It is a beef sausage that is extremely popular in South Africa. In fact, I would almost liken it to chili here in the states. They have all kinds of cook-offs and contests and such.

Here's a picture of some cooking at a tailgate I was at before a Western Province (Cape Town) rugby match. The pic is kind of massive, so I'll just link it.

The more traditional way to cook it, or to cook any meat in South Africa, for that matter, is on a Braai. Folks will usually have one of these on the deck, built in to their home, as well as have one in their living room that doubles as a fireplace. The basic premise is that they burn wood in the "box" on the right. As the wood burns, the coals drop through the grate, then get spread under the meat. Here's another pic.

Just thought I'd share as I found a store here in Atlanta that sells authentic boerewors. I'll be smoking 6 lbs of it before the Auburn - Florida game. I'll post some pics of that later.
