Hey all,
Just found the forum after searching brine recipes on the net. Proud owner of a Big Chief due to schedule restraints but a real purist at heart. (I use the same lame excuse for my gas grill) IT guy by trade, carnivor by nature gonna head out for some venison this week and was looking for something new to try for salami and jerky. Looking forward to gleaning the wisdom of the masters here.

Thanks
Longshot

Welcome Longshot!

Glad you found us. These are the friendliest folks on the net. Ask questions and these folks will make answer.

Take care, have fun, and do good.

Regards,

Meowey

Welcome Longshot! Check out the Sausage and Making Jerky forums. Lots of great info and recipes there. Let us know how the venison trek goes, more importantly the making of the venison "goodies"! Glad you're here!

Hey Long-They still letting you sneak onto the campus at U I?? :P Haven't seen you on the SASS Wire for a while and figured those students had you tied up with IT problems. Anyhoo-glad that you found us here at SMF. Lots of good folks here and the only flames that we have here are the ones in the smokebox!

Hope you bag a nice buck and looking forward to seeing you in the forums!

Satch!!! You old so and so how you doing?
I haven't been around the old SASS Wire in a while because I haven't had time to write and if I spend time there I start getting pressured to write some more. It's great inspiration and motivation and as soon as I have some more to the story I'll start again. But hey, in the mean time its time to smoke some meat!!! Great to hear from ya!!
