Posted this once already but it never showed up, so my apologies if this ends up posting twice:

Anyways my first boston butt is in the traeger right now but the smoke temp only seems to hit about 170-185 max, but on Medium I am getting 250-270 with spikes to 300.

What should I do differently, because clearly I'm going to have to go to medium which is hotter then most recommendations I've been seeing. I have ordered the digital controller but it won't save the day right now. Am I at risk of overcooking at those "medium" temps and if so what can I do to band-aid it.
