I was sitting watching Xfinity racing and thought about smoked Spam....   HUH ??....   weird....   It's been a few years so it's time to do it again....

I hadn't forgot how good it can be.....    This batch ain't done yet....   Only 1.5 hours of hickory smoke....  going for 3 ish...  smoking at 135-140...    Trying to dry it out a little....   the meat is too mushy for a good hors d'oeuvre....    I was thinking I was going to dip the sticks in spicy dipping cheese...   other stuff for sammies or with eggs......

As you can see, I've been testing...   think I'm going to cut the whole batch into sticks...   there's still time for more heat and smoke....   Done....   It's all sticks....

Looks good, Dave. I enjoy some smoked spam. I unfortunately, or perhaps it's my great fortune, have to eat it all myself. [emoji]128512[/emoji]

Another :spam2: aficionado here, usually have 2-3 flavors in the cabinet.
Black Pepper is a favorite, we slice it thin, fry it hard and it's quite delectable.
Jalapeno is another which is often used, as is Chorizo.

For those of you who like it smoked, order a flat of their Hickory Smoke flavored.
Its pretty darned good for not actually being smoked.

Usually a breakfast meat or my Wife's childhood fav, Fried Spam with Kraft Mac 'n Cheese. We go through 6-8 cans a month. Smoking it sounds great...JJ

Sliced, fried and put in a grilled Swiss cheese sandwich. Next time I fire up the smoker I'll throw some on and add another layer of flavor.

Add pineapple slice and melt cheese over it all

I almost bought a can yesterday, cause just about the only thing in the store was Spam.

I think it may be on the list for tomorrow, unless the stores start to get some food in them.

Actually I have always wanted to try smoked Spam, so tomorrow that may be the meal of choice!

Ive never been a big fan of canned meat so,I was skeptical of smoked spam...
Untill I had some; now I'm a huge fan...and try to throw a can or three on the smoker whenever I'm out.
I've thought about stuffing it in casings for smoked spam links just to be different.
Anyone ever try doing that?

Walt

I've had spam many different ways . Grew up on it because it was cheap back then . Grilled and sauced makes a great sandwich .

I like spam also and like it crispy. I like scooping up buttered mashed potatoes with it.

Looks Great, Dave!!

I gotta keep my sodium down since they screwed up my Kidneys, but a little can't hurt.

How comes we all have to be the only ones at home who eat it ???

Love it. Love it. Love it. Thanks for the reminder Dave. Slice it. Smoke it. Seal it in breakfast size portions and into the freezer.
Then take out what you need. Brown in the pan with a little butter. I prefer my eggs sunny side up. Black coffee. See you in the morning Dave! B

Mmmmmmm..... I have not had smoked Spam in forever.  Thanks for jogging the memory!  I need to do this and soon.

WOW !!!   Thanks for the new ideas....  Many folks seem to have the same likes...  only cooked in a different way....
