Hey all - here I am in South Jersey, near the Delaware River, and only about a month into smoking. Been grilling for years, of course, but saw some of those grilling shows on PBS and whatnot and the little lady said, "you should get a smoker and try that..." and so here we are. I just got a cheapo $35 bullet water smoker from Wally World to see if everything clicked, and we're learning, slowly but surely.  I've done a turkey breast, a whole chicken, a couple of flank steaks, and working on a brisket right now as we speak. The wife doesn't eat pork, so we haven't gotten in to the ribs and other pork yet but I will.  We also toss our burgers and Hebrew Nats on the smoker for a different kind of taste.

In the spring I expect to get a decent combo grill/smoker setup but have not really begun to investigate the various brands and models. Not gonna spend a thousand dollars on the thing, so my budget is probably $250 +/- roughly.

I'll let you know how the brisket turns out.
