I'm sure this isn't a new topic, but I'm new. Simple question, why do you need a stack? I'm designing a smoker for a friend and (outside of keeping the smoke out of your eyes) I don't understand why you can't control the smoke using a simple, inexpensive, gateway.

Thanks in advance for the input

What type of smoker ??   a drawing of picture would help.....

Stacks are installed to create draft...  your design may not need draft....
