Just purchased a Char-griller competition smoker and I'm heating it right now. I find no drain hole for grease run off? I know I can drill a hole but asking advice. Also, what would you recommend for a seal around the fire box door and the main door. I'm in Michigan and watching this right I can tell there will be plenty of heat loss.

I'm pretty new to this and long to have a good truck one day, but for now I want to Do Things right and learn from some mistakes.

I live in Kalamazoo MI and look forward to any help and suggestions.

I would definitely add a drain hole on the opposite end of the firebox at the bottom of the cook chamber Also use nomex gasket materiel and plug every leak you see.

Thank you good advice and what I was thinking-just needed to make sure I was not crazy! LOL  Thank you again for replying.

Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
