More progress. I welded in the rails and made the grate. I wish the cooking chamber opening was lower. If I had a way to curve 10 gauge steel I would extend it further down to drop the grate lower.

It is coming along nicely and you certainly do nice work!  It's getting close to seasoning time.

Are you going to add some handles to your cooking grate for easy removal?

Thank you! Yes, today the grate gets a handle and the the baffle and tuning plates will go in. After that I just need to add the handles and gauges.

Where is your "For Outdoor Use Only" decal?

Smoker is functionally finished. I need to build the work surface and bib next, but I figured it was time to season it.

It is... ALIVE! The tuning plates work like a dream, currently balancing out the heat but it's sitting at a rock solid 225, right where I want it.

Nice - no leaks - looks very tight!

My old Brinkman has a wire shelf on the front that is very handy - I will snap a pic and send it to you.  You can barely see it in the pic I sent to you earlier.

Interesting! The shelf sits surprisingly low, but it's a necessity given how low the doors are. Thanks!
