Hi everyone! Dan here from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I just got a Masterbuilt Pro Dual Fuel smoker as a gift and excited to put it together tonight and season it so I can start smoking with it tomorrow. Not sure what I'm going to smoke first in it, I keep bouncing between chicken, ribs and pork butt. Anyway, looking forward to reading all the great info on the forums!

Hey Dan, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here with the smoker puzzle and ready to put it together and make it earn its living.  As far as what to smoke first, chicken, ribs, pork butt all work, just depends how fast you want it to be done!

Enjoy the forum!

Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on the new smoker!

Chicken is always a good first thing to smoke.

It's cheap & easy!

Thanks guys! I put my smoker to use on Monday (it was a civic holiday here) and cooked up three racks of baby back ribs as they were on sale at my butcher shop. I think they turned out pretty good for a first time out; I'll post some photos up shortly. Looking forward to getting more on the smoker.
