I'm somewhat new to the "smoking" scene but very new to the electric smoker. I purchased a MES 40" because I wanted to enjoy time with my wife when we smoke and not be tending to a fire for HOURS on end while she works on her tan (I do like watching her do it though lol).

I have a cousin who is a Pit Master from the tour and he is also a judge on the scene as well. That's who I get most of my help/info from, and even though he says I'm not bothering him I don't like calling him with all my question when there are resources like this forum. Beside I love spreading information and gaining new insights in this hobby.

I'm a master automotive tech and welded for a few companies, including making BBQ pits for the state off Texas for use in some of the state parks. I also do residential A/C. I guess you can say I like learning new things and staying busy.

This is a great forum, that I spend way to many hours on, but I really enjoy reading some of the questions and answers.

A Native Texan,
Michael
