Im looking to do a 500 gallon smoker and i want a big smome stack i have a 12 inch diameter pipe the calculator has me needing a really short smoke stack. Will 12 inch pipe about 3.5 feet long be over kill??

I'm not to sure, it will change the the amount of air draw. I have no clue as to what it would do, sorry no help here. Some one will be along with so good info. Good luck on your build and post us up some pics can't wait to see some smoke rolling out of it

When I did my 500 gallon tank build I used a short piece of 8" pipe and I slide a piece of stove pipe inside it when I am using it.
