Hi Folks, wondering if anyone has experience with these? Or both...

Ivation Long Range Wireless Dual Probe or ThermoPro TP12 Wireless Dual

They are both about the same price range,

but I do like that the Thermopro has both probe jacks are on the same side but the warning "Lifetime Sensor Probe Warranty – Although the sensor probe is rigidly produced, after a long-time period of use, a few amount units could experience incorrect temperature readings problem caused by careless or improper use. We will provide you a brand-new sensor probe, free of charge!"

They both have a backlight which is important for me.

also wondering about ease of use and if either are glitchey

I dont like that the Ivation has probe jacks on both sides and a battery cover that requires a driver (on one)

Your detailed thoughts are paramount...

thanks grillers and smokers

Ivation is the same as the Maverick or RediChek.  It was pretty much the standard go to for most of us, me included.  The issue with the Ivation/Maverick/RediChek is the probes.  Some folks have no problem with them.  I go through about two a year, every year.  Personally, I'm done with Ivation/Maverick/RediChek.

I can't speak for the TP12, but it looks like a direct competitor with the Ivation/Mav/RC.  The lifetime sensor probe replacement can't be beat.  Go with the TP12 or the TP 20.

You don't mention which model of Ivation/Maverick you are considering. I can tell you that for the Mav 732 as well as the TP12 are almost identical in function and features. A very bad design feature for both is the backlight button beeps when you press it, making it useless for me to use at night from my bed. I tried it a few times and annoyed the heck out of my wife.  In fact, every button beeps when you push it, so setting alarm limits is annoying, and the limit values only increment, so if you miss the number you have to go all the way around.
