Hello Everyone,

A few weeks ago I decided to purchase a Pit Barrel Cooker.  After researching various smokers/pits within my allotted budget it came out the winner by a narrow margin over the WSM 18".  The tipping point was the amount of food I could cook on it for the footprint I had to use it and store it.  I have to say, I am very pleased with my purchase and I think the people who have been able to consume the food I have cooked on it are pleased as well.  I have used it 5 times in the past 3 weeks.  2 cooks of Baby back ribs, 1 cook of chicken, a Chuckie, and some ABT's.  I really like the simplicity of it and what can be more fun than hanging meat.  Here are a few photos of my early cooks.  Thanks for checking in and as always, comments, questions and critiques are welcome.

Looks like a fine cooker, and some good eats. I have a 22 WSM and never tried hanging meat.

I have had my PBC for two years now and use it a lot. Was able to pack it up and take it on a camping trip last summer. Picked up the split rack and was able to cook 4 chicken halves on one side and some camp potatoes on the other. I also have an Acorn Kamado and an offset smoker but the pit barrel is my go to for a lot of cooks because it is about as set it and forget it as you can get with a charcoal cooker. Handled eight racks of ribs two weeks ago with no problem. Twice smoked ham is amazing as are turkeys on the PBC.
