Yeah man...as good as my Webber ever was... Ian, the kid who brought it over said he paid 59 bucks for it...I got a gasket and about 10 bucks in toggle clamps so it was cheap to.
Should work nicely...one set of mine (on the bottom) is adjustable...the ones on top are a cheap set I re-purposed. Amazon has a great selection...couldn't find them locally anywhere.
Actually the one by itself on the top grate is coldest...
BUT, every hunk-o-meat is different...
The two side by side on the lower grate are over 10° different...all three are within a few ounces of being the same size.
Eight and a half hours out of the origional load of coals at about 235°F without any fussing with anything...two vent adjustments at about two to three hours in...stirred coals once...temp fell to 223°...checked fuel...time to re-load.
Right.. little heat flow variations too in there . Wonder how hot that sand is .. lol. . I think my ECB used 6 or 7 pounds when I did 14 hours plus. Was a full pan using minion
Don't know how much I started with...had an open 10lb bag...haven't used it up yet.
Did minion...little more than half a pan un lit, half a chimney lit...got a solid 8 hours...I'm thinking I might have gone 11 hours maybe if I crammed her full. Don't think it'll hold more than 7-8 pounds crammed full.
Never touched vents when I added charcoal...had a spike to about 270° while door was opened and I was adding fuel...dropped to 255° (about 10 minutes)...
I'll be quite happy if she settles back in at 235° ish.
That person should feel a little relief that your getting good results with it. [emoji]128526[/emoji] I don't know what this tabletop kettle holds.. guess 7 lbs. Just under half a bag
He's my best friends kid...as much as I wanted to cuss and swear I bit my tongue and said "oh well, $#it happens". He was in enough trouble from his dad...didn't need me giving it to him too...
Was supprised he replaced it at all.
BUT I'M HAPPY I made it work...I was missing my WSM.
