Hi All I'm looking for a good n tried Chinese Spare recipe. Doesn't need to be a BBQ one.

I know hoisin sauce is one of the main ingredients..

Thanks Dan

this is  the char siu  marinade/ glaze   i used for my porkbutt   you could adapt it for ribs easy. curing salt was optional if you were cooking it in  the oven and wanted  the pink ring  on the pork but if you use your smoker  then you dont need it.  just combine all the ingredients bring to a boil let cool then  marinate  the ribs   4+ hours in the sauce   then  cook as you would w ribs then glaze  with the marinade  at the end  of the cook  but  if you use the marinade you put the raw pork in boil   it for for safety it or save some that you didn't put raw pork in

3 pounds boneless pork butt, cut into 4 sections lengthwise

2/3 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup hoisin sauce

1/2 cup honey

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup Chinese rice wine (can sub sake, or dry sherry)

1/3 cup ketchup

4  garlic cloves, crushed

1 teaspoon five-spice powder

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne

1/8 teaspoon pink curing salt, optional
