Greeting to all the expert smokers and BBQ gurus

I just joined this great community and look forward to gaining knowledge and good food ideas.

I have grilled all my life, consider myself good on the grill, but never really had a offset smoker before.  I have cooked meat on the grill with the cover down and with wood to help with the taste, but don't consider myself a smoker.  Until I got a Smoky Hollow 4 in 1 grill for Fathers day.  I know this grill isn't anything worthy of professional BBQ folks, but it doesn't have the offset box, and with a few mods seems to be good enough for a starter.  I have successfully smoked a pork shoulder on it for pulled pork to raves from my friends.  And I attribute some of my success to reading this forum before hand.

So while I may ask stupid questions at times, I know from reading past threads this community is patient and glad to pass on their accumulated knowledge.

Charlie, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here and finding success with the new smoker.  There's nothing better than people attempting to say "OMG!" (in a good way) with their mouth full of your smoked meat.

There's no such thing as a stupid question around here.  We're all learning all the time.  Heck, I'm smoking chicken jerky for the first time today, and had to do a lot of research to make sure I get it right the first time.

Enjoy the forum!
