I am documenting the build with pics and will post them all once I get it up and smoking.. I just have a question that I know can be answered by some of the experience on here.. I am working on a cold smoke mod (similar to the mailbox mod).. i will be using a dryer hose from the FB to the CC.. My question is what type of metal does my 90 degree attachment need to be made of?? I have seen some make of aluminum will that work?

Aluminum will work.  Also it should be a 3 inch joint.  Best of luck! :)

I am looking at the AMNPS, but I am wondering which size would work better the 5x8 or the 6x6?? Basically my FB is going to be similar to a mailbox mod (20Lx9Wx8H).. I am just unsure which AMNPS I should get..

The 5X8 I think...  It fits MES smokers... Mailboxes...    The 6X6 was designed for "dust" as a fuel...    The "tube" AMNTS, puts out 3 to 4 times the smoke as the AMNPS...   your smoker CC needs to be larger for it to not oversmoke stuff....

I would assume the 5X8 is better for you.  I use it in a mailbox mod using a wall hanging mailbox.  Also it gives you 4 more square inches of area than the 6X6 version and will be thinner than the 6X6 version.  Length wont be an issue :)

That's is all really good info!! Thanks! I will definitely give the man who started it all a call to discuss my ideas for what I'm trying to accomplish!! I am getting further along with the build.. Got some things I needed via UPS today!! Gotta love those brown boxes when you know they are for you!! Pics of the build to come once I get her smoking.. Good smokes

Did you just use foil tape to seal around the smoke tube?
Yep I sure did but there is a little more to it.

I took the elbow joint and a marker and traced a circle on the top of my mailbox.

I then used the marker to make lines in the circle so the circle looked like it had 8 slices like this:

Then using my dremel rotary tool with the metal cutting wheel to cut along the straight lines not the outside circle line.

I then fold up a single triangle wedge and then fold down the next so that one is up and one is down.  I repeat this until all triangles are folded up or down.

I then put the elbow joint on the INSIDE of the upward folded triangles and fold the upward facing triangles against the elbow joint as flush as they will go.

I then tape those upward triangle flaps against the elbow joint with the high temp foil tape and use the tape to cover any gaps made from cutting and folding the triangles up and down.

You may have to cut the triangles a little bit deeper to bend them open and upwards enough for the 3 inch elbow joint end to fit inside the upward folded triangle wedges.

Basically that is it.  I've built two of them and it works like a charm and holds together very well like one whole object.

Let me know if you have any questions :)
