I am looking for a good all in one grill.  I had a Brinkmans charcoal grill that I used for smoking and it worked great.  This weekend the bottom rotted through so I think this is the last year I can use it.

I looked at the grills in retail stores and they seem very cheaply build.  I had a gas grill that only last 3 years.

I like the MeadowCreek PR36, but with all in it will cost me $1,400.  Looking for something durable at a better cost.

Ideas?

sounds like a Weber Kettle 22.5" is what you are looking for. It is not uncommon for them to last 20+ years. I got mine off Craig's List for a song. It is in it's 11 season and shows no sign of wear or rust. There is not much you can't do with it. I added a rotisserie ring to it and love it. Don't hardly ever fire up the GOSM gasser any more. The kettle will do it all.

Good luck

Agreed, Weber is the answer , but get it from an actual Weber dealer, NOT the big box stores. In our area, Ace and TrueValue are the dealers.

I agree Weber kettle is a good way to go, but I don't understand why get from Ace or TruValue? I bought mine from Walmart already assembled for $90. It still grills and smokes great. I get my accessories from Amazon. I recommend the charcoal baskets so you can do two zone cooking and if you want to get really fancy try the rotesserie attachment. Just some ideas.

When i bought my gas grill.....I know.... there was a huge difference between the 1 from Lowes, and the 1 i got from TrueValue. and of course the Hardware guy pointed it out. He also told us what to look for on the kettles, there was a difference , and 2 different model #'s for the same grill.

I will admit, I never thought of a kettle grill.  Cooking real estate is my biggest concern.  I can currently do 6-8 racks of ribs(I used patio block to add a second tier).

I do family(4-6) and hangouts (10-15) during the summer.

On the 22.5" kettle, you'll have to use rib racks to load it with that many racks, but should be fine.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the input.  After looking for 2 weeks, I chose the MeadowCreek PR36.

I can't wait to start smoking....

I went to Smokin-Dudes BBQ who are a dealer.  They talked me out of a few bells-and whistles I was thinking about like a pull out charcoal tray.

So that kept my cost down.

There a good group of guys over at SnD's. When they had a small q joint in croydon decades ago I was a regular, my buddy tended their pits for a while. They really rolled their business into something special. Good luck with the new rig.
