I've been wanting a smoker for a few years and recently decided to go ahead and get one. I've always loved grilling but wanted to always smoke low and slow. I got a Pitboss pellet smoker. I've done a pork loin, baby backs, and yesterday some wings. Well I decided it was time for a pork butt. Went yesterday morning and picked one up. Got it home and applied the dry rub. Started the smoker at 11:30 last night and put it on about midnight. I figured it would take until about noon today since it was 8 pounds. I got up this morning and went and checked it. It was a lot closer to done than I expected. At 9:00 A.M. it had reached 193. I took it off, wrapped it in foil and a towel and put it in the cooler. We went to church and got home about 12:30 and I pulled it. It tastes great!!! I'm loving this low and slow smoking and new hobby!!!

Tasty looking pp,I normally cut my butts in half season two different ways for variety. What's up next looks like you need to cook some beef, maybe a chuckie or Tri tip.

Looking good..... Point...

You won't regret the Pit Boss. I just bought one this spring after using a friends traeger at work over the last couple yrs. Best Q purchase ever, I ended up picking up a used one from a guy that smokes for his food truck ( he upgraded to a large commercial one) so Now I have one for home and one for work...... I can't complain....

Welcome to the wonderful world of smoke. It looks great. Almost picked up that smoker myself. You got me kicking myself
I sure do like this one. I noticed today at walmart here that they had their camp chef smokepros on clearance for $250. Looked like a pretty decent smoker for the money
