I plan on smoking two packers in my uds next Saturday for a graduation party. Adding the second grate near the top this weekend,I always used an old weber lid so I would have the room for the second rack. Now the question is if one of the briskets is a few pounds smaller is there any benefit to having the small one on the top or bottom shelf?

I would place the smaller one on the top, furthest away from heat source. The benefit to it being on the top is you dont have to switch the meat around when the smaller one finishes first. I'm sure more guys will chime in here shortly. Good luck to you!

Makes sense to me I guess the smaller will baste the larger as well sense I don't typically wrap my briskets. Thanks
