Smoke Blower
Original poster
I've been looking for a cool smoker  to build at the deer camp so we came up with the "Stump Smoker"

We use a cast iron pan with a few briquettes or a smoke tube to generate the smoke.

You won't find many of these on the Internet. We may have the second one ever to be posted on the www.

The first run in the stump smoker was some salmon it turned out delicious.

And then the "RubberDuck" and I did some cheese and nuts.

Trying another lid out.

Ready to eat.

Thanks.. yeah it works out well because we can leave it right at camp and it won't get stolen. We could have hauled up a Oklahoma Joes or whatever but we would have to haul it each time to keep it from getting stolen. So this worked out perfect. We are still making some more improvements to it. We are going to line the inside of it with sheet metal and a few other tricks coming soon...

Once in a groundskeeping job they had us take down a big hollow oak. They cut it into big rings  which were heavy, and when we tried to hustle them around, grabbing the wet rotted inside was like fisting a pumpkin.

This one is dry and we keep it covered and dry. it does have some punky soft spots on the inside but we are slowly removing the punk wood and then going to line the inside.

My pic are vaporizing on my other forums as photobucket is starting to hold all users pic hostage so these will probably be gone soon folks sorry in advance.

They want 399.00 per year now to 3rd party host. So I'll have to hold off on my content until I find another place to host my pics again sorry in advance folks.

Thanks for the responses thus far.

I have heard about this before.   I have hundreds of pics on PB.

Hollow tree smokers are cool!

I know a guy on the coast that has several on his property. Both are about 8'-10' tall, 30"+ diameter Doug fir.

As for your photos, Flickr is what I use. I have a pro account due to my work. But they offer a good free platform too.

Thats cool yeah they work great and nobody steals them.

I'm suprised my pic are still up PB whacked them on 3 other of my forums. I couldn't get flicker to embed and host my pics. I tried with the free phone app so maybe that's the difference.

Wow that is cool!  I can just imagine using a HeaterMeter to control a tree stump smoker.  That would be like both ends of the spectrum of what can be done hahaha.

I use tinypic.com for a place to just host pics.  I don't know how they are for a place to really "house" and catalog your photo library but it does just fine when I want to post an image online somehwere and I don't want to create a whole account or anything to upload the image.  If you need something to just slap an image online somewhere then it has been solid for me for years.... though I never go back and visit the images on their site haha.
