Brand spanking new member here.

My name is Matt, and i currently reside in the good ole USA in new england.   Just bought my first smoker (smoke hollow 44241G2).  I haven't done much in it yet, just a Boston butt and a couple racks of ribs as i am VERY new to this and want to learn by trial and error.  So far though, everything came out pretty good.

A little about me.  I am a 10yr veteran of the USAF.  did first 3.5 years working as a crew chief on a plane i can't talk much about.  the last part i moved to medical.  I am currently work in a level 1 trauma center in an inner city as a CT technologist.  I am married to a woman who hounds me to grill all year round and have 2 wonderful girls who also hound me for BBQ.

I did look over these forums a bit before coming a member, and i must say there is a plethora of information here.

i look forward to seeing everyone on here!

Matt, welcome to SMF!  Thank you for your service.  Lots of veterans here, lots.

My wife was a little more subtle than yours.  She would buy me outdoor grills, equipment, and finally a smoker.  She's obviously smarter than me because it took me decades to figure out she wanted me to take over the cooking duties!  Good thing I LOVE to cook!

Enjoy the forum.  Looking forward to seeing you around.
