Hello Guys, Always used Kingsford Briquettes, gonna use some B+B Oak Lump Charcoal tonight on a couple of butts from Sam's. Do I use it the same way or what? Thanks for any help. Oh yeah, smoking on an 18 inch WSM.  Thanks for any advice and have a great Independance Day!  .Kevin

So, put the 2 butts on, 17 lbs total , at 1815 last night. Everything was A-OK at midnight. Temp 225 and holding perfect with the Digi Q. Added some lump, to be sure. Got up at 0500 and still holding at 225, right on. Internal temp 165 ish. Wanted these done before noon so loaded up a few scoops of lump and turned temp to 250. I'm gonna try not wrapping these. That Digi Q sure does work well. The open lid feature is sweet. I only opened lid once, this am to put sensors in meat. I tried this lump because the smoky flavor was too much for me. It was real strong with apple or mesquite chunks. I hope that's not blasphemy here. The lump burned fine. Not too fast and just a little blue smoke. I'm thinking this is gonna be good. Made some BDSE sauce.Thinking of trying SoFlaQuer's finishing sauce. Thank you for all ya'lls input. It's gonna be good. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Be some smokin" and grilling and barbecue today. Kevin

Check this bad boy out. 20 hrs at 225. Best looking butts I ever did. Almost wouldn't come off smoker in one piece. Nice and juicy. Now I'm gonna tell ya', these two are different from the ones I cooked quick. Might be the lump, might be the low and slow. Gonna let it rest a little and pull it. Got some SoFlaQuer finishing sauce and some BDSE, coleslaw and bun, corn on the cob. Kevin
