I wanted to ask this question as i am in the process of building my smoker and rigging up two cold smoke generators.....my question is in every video or picture i see of one they are kicking out massive amounts of smoke, yet all i see is white smoke, not the thin blue smoke were looking for,is it just an illusion,or the photo failing to capture it?I,m not trying to knock anything...i,m just at a stage where i can alter my design...any thoughts or suggestions would be very helpful.

It depends on the smoke generator. For example a Pellet Tube will put out more smoke than a tray will, and a tray will produce even less when using dust instead of pellets. You should match what you need with what you've got for the size and type of smoker. If you are building a smoker, I can only assume it will be fairly large, and can get away with a Tube, but you could also light both ends of a tray if you need more smoke.

I can't exactly answer your question but when I use my AMNPS and do double smoke (lit from both ends) I see much more smoke than when I just light one end.

The smoke does not look bad it is just more noticeable and I would say it is more white than TBS (thin blue smoke) but not house on fire type of smoke hahaha.  I think the extra visibility is simply due to double the smoke output.  None of the smoke has been bad on my meat.

I hope others can chime in.
