Hello here is my first part of my first pulled pork. I got it in a 12 hr brine is that ok that the water isn't covering the whole pork butt? I found the recipe online for the brine. I just used molasses and salt and water. Next pic will be tomorrow after the brine and before I put it in smoker.

Take a plate or zip lock bag filled half full of water to hold the meat under the brine.

It's actually sitting all the way down should I add more water to cover it all?

Yea it should be covered.

Just added water will soften the brine

Yes to achieve what your attempting it should be covered in brine. Did you us a recipe for the brine is it mixed till dissolved? Looks like a lot of white in there.
