I have a Louisiana Grill CS680, I recently replaced the igniter rod and it still isn't getting hot. Is there something else that I should try?

Rook Smooker,

Did you check the fuse?  If the fuse is good check to see if you have power going to the hot rod.  If everything else works then you might have a board issue.  If you are savvy enough you could and don't have a meter you can take unplug the face and plug it into the hot rod.  Don't plug in the hot rod anywhere else.  It will damage the board.  If the fan works it is a bad hot rod.  Yes it is possibly that a new one is bad.  Hopefully the photo of the electrical diagram which is online works for you.

Thank you for the response. I did check the fuse and it's solid, I didn't replace it with the spare fuse to try, but will do that. The fan works and the board still works, so I went ahead and ordered a new igniter rod to see if that's it. Good advice on meter testing the power to the hot rod, I'll try that.

Thank you for the advice, i've left messages at main company and haven't gotten any response.

how old is the grill, i just had a GOOD warranty experience so it might be worth while to contact the "customer care" department before you start burning up more money !!
